Recently, I attended the Long Beach International Quilt Festival. It was an amazing market of all things quilt related and a haven for fiber artists like myself. As I wound my way through all the vendors, I came across the area that Quilting Arts had setup. In one section, they had a wall of Artist Trading Cards, where you could trade your card for someone else's. I knew, then and there, that I needed to go home and create!
So, I went to Iowa the next week, and found Polky Bolton's book of 1000 artist trading cards. Inspiration!
Came home. Forgot about it all. But then, I whipped out my misty fuse. Layered angelina and misty fuse (multiple times) and then topped it all with silk organza.
I made to long strips of these creations. I had no idea what I was doing at the time as I was just playing with the misty fuse. These little creations sat for a while. Then, yesterday, looked at them and thought, "Ah-Ha! ATC's!!".
My rotary cutter came out and I cut 27 qty 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles out. zigzagged the edges using Sulky Blendables thread.
Then, I whipped out my stamps and Jacquard paints. I stamped, stenciled and painted my way through. I think the result is stunning and am so happy w/ it. I thought, btw, that I only had 26. So my numbering system is 0/26 - 26/26. Woopsie. :) I put 0/26 in a special book I am making that documents my art projects this year.
My theme: My Layers.
Okay, time to turn the chair around and return to creating...

I was at the Chicago show and acquired one of your ATC's and love it. I checked out the trading board multiple times over the 4 days I was there and your card really stood out to me. Thanks for the great card.
